LifePoint Academy serves as our program for providing practical, age-based, Biblical teaching for each member of the family, and for each phase of life. Formerly known as our Sunday School program, this midweek (Wednesdays @ 6:30 p.m) ministry strives to meet people where they are and provide the Biblically-based answers to life’s toughest problems.
Because our hope is that our adult classes will be teaching-base (according to personal need), and not teacher-base, LifePoint Academy operates in scheduled terms, generally providing adults with 2 or 3 class options each term. We take short breaks between terms. This enables us to provide greater variety and, over time, meet more needs.
Our adult class options generally fit into 3 categories:
Biblical Studies: studies focus on Biblical doctrine, theological concepts, books of the Bible, Bible interpretation, and so on.
Wisdom Studies: these courses focus on the practical application of Biblical principles. Study topics include marriage, singleness, parenting, other family/relational issues, finances, and other lifestyle issues.
Ministry Training: No. We’re not necessarily training everybody to be a full-time pastor, missionary or evangelist. However, we do feel strongly that God has called every follower of Jesus to minister to those, both inside and outside of the church. He has also called each of us to share our personal story of faith, and the difference that Jesus has made in our lives. This category of classes simply equip people with some very practical knowledge and techniques to do that.
